New publication on transpiration from riparian areas

Professor Flores is co-author on a new paper in Water Resources Research entitled “Recognizing and modeling variable drawdown due to evapotranspiration in a semiarid riparian zone considering local differences in vegetation and distance from a river source.” The paper presents the work of Brady Johnson, who finished the MS Hydrologic Sciences degree at Boise State in 2011 and is now employed at Idaho’s Department of Environmental Quality (IDEQ). The paper investigates the use of continuously measured groundwater elevation to predict transpiration at the intensively monitored Boise Hydrogeophysical Research Site (BHRS). The abstract and full text can be found here: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/wrcr.20122/abstract
